Hi Lovelies,

I missed the Saturday when I am suppose to post so here is my post for this week.

It is a food section again this time. I hope you are all excited because I was so excited to write this post.

First and foremost, a quote about food, “no love is more sincere than the love for food”

A couple of months back, I made a visit down to the One Michelin Star Japanese reinterpretation of French cuisine – béni Singapore.

“béni aims to share the blessings of a genuinely delightful food and drink, combined with impeccable service. The exclusive fine-dining establishment integrates French fine dining cuisine and Japanese produce including the Ozaki A5 Wagyu Beef from Miyazaki prefecture. Guests are brought on an intimate and indulgent gastronomic journey through a series of courses featuring the best of the four seasons served by Chef de Cuisine, Kenji Yamanaka.”

First Impression

The restaurant is on the second floor all the way at the corner. The walk towards the restaurant, there is a glass that you can see through to the restaurant and look at the guests inside.

Once inside, the restaurant only has less than 15 seats plus a room for another 10 pax. It is an open concept kitchen where the chefs are really close to the customers.

I took the counter seat that had a huge long wooden table right in front of the chefs. There are 3 handsome Japanese men in front of the counter and their patience and concentration to do up our dishes really shows up in the dishes.

Course Meal

Lunch had 3 different courses:

  1. 4 courses Experience is at SGD 68
  2. 7 courses Degustation for SGD 128
  3. 5 course Precieux is at SGD 225

I went to Beni for Lunch in the beginning of March and they were about to change their menu at the end of March 2017.

Early March Menu in Details:

This is the bread that they served in a bag with hot stones at the bottom so that the bread would be still warm even in the middle of the meal. Such a good idea as most restaurant give a lot of bread but it gets cold in the middle of the meal.

The bread is served with unsalted butter, sea salt, truffle salt and green tea salt.

Take a peek at the nice wonderful bread. 3 different kinds of bread served.

For the starters, which is served in a small tall cup and has cream cheese and jelly. Slightly salty and very refreshing.

The first course is Fish Tartar with grated Japanese Radish at the base and radish on top. At the side is some bitter veggie puree which was very refreshing but really a little bitter. I really loved this presentation and the taste of it.

To all beef lovers, this is the kind of beef that you should try!! Beni is one of the 2 restaurants in Singapore that this supplier of this beef supplies to. This supplier has several acres of land for these cows to graze in which means their meat is so premium.

Served with truffle slices and sweet potatoes chips and grilled vegetables. The meat is so juicy and so awesome!

Pre-dessert is the strawberry theme and on a UFO plate. It looks too delicious to eat.

Dessert – This is grapefruit and soaked in white wine and red wine respectively which I think is really nice.
